John Barnett has a unique background and training. He did his undergraduate studies in physics at the University of Florida. He then went to California to study at the prestigious Yo San University. Yo San was founded by two brothers who have over 37 generations of family lineage in Chinese Medicine. John has worked with other health care professionals including Physical therapists, Massage therapists, chiropractors, and M.D.s to expand the field of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. John’s training in Chinese herbs is uncommon in Florida. He often makes custom herb formulas for patients when their conditions require more intensive treatment. He also teaches Tai-Ji / Qi Gong and gives Health Talks on a variety of subjects in the community on a regular basis. If you would like us to come and speak to your group or organization please let us know. Personal Statement from John Barnett, AP
E= mc2 : This equation defines the relationship between matter and energy. At the University of Florida I studied this and numerous other equations and concepts while I was in the honors physics program. This experience gave me a deep appreciation of what this equation tells us about the natural world, and how physical matter and energy interact. At the forefront of modern science is the search for a single rule or understanding of how all phenomena in the universe function. While in school I stumbled across an ancient Chinese text that revealed this understanding. The book is the 2500 yr old Hua Hu Ching, a less well known work by the author of the Tao Te Ching, Lao Tzu. I was amazed to discover that the ancient Chinese had developed a sophisticated understanding of these natural laws and the forces that govern all life. Upon further study I also found out that the Chinese applied this knowledge to human life as a foundation to the complete medical system of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Lammi was born in the Midwestern plains of Nebraska before moving to Florida as a child. She grew up with a love for the outdoors, sports, and anything that involved water! After graduating as Salutatorian from high school, she attended the University of Florida, where she was pre-med with a major in chemistry. After growing discontented with the state of Western medicine, she moved to Boston, Massachusetts to work in the fashion merchandising industry. She worked as a merchandiser for three years before becoming homesick for the slower pace and more open spaces of Florida. She found that her job, while challenging creatively, was unfulfilling on the emotional level. It was about this time when an event happened that would literally change her life. She was introduced to Oriental Medicine through a good friend that had been helped through acupuncture and herbal medicine. Western medicine had not helped him, but an intensive course of acupuncture and herbs had allowed him to resume his martial arts practice. Lammi then moved back to Florida to go back to school and start her journey through the world of Oriental Medicine. Always interested in herbal medicine, she was excited to learn about the complex herbal formulas and the treatment principles behind them. Even more exciting was the effectiveness of the medicine. In 2007, she graduated cum laude from the Florida College of Integrated Medicine. After graduating, she worked in a multi-disciplinary clinic that specialized in rehabilitative therapies, including chiropractic, massage therapy, and physical therapy. She became familiar with the strengths and weaknesses of the different modalities, and how integrating acupuncture into the care can increase the healing process. She helped many car accident victims, as well as patients with degenerative conditions that lead to debilitating pain. Lammi saw more than just pain patients, however. She has helped a number of people with conditions that range from allergies, to anxiety, to auto-immune diseases such as psoriasis, multiple sclerosis, and lupus. Her patients appreciate her empathy, compassion, and cheerful attitude. Another area that Lammi takes great interest in is in the field of reproductive medicine and gynecological disorders. She has experience with both male and female reproductive disorders, and has extensively studied hormone imbalances and gynecological disorders such as PCOS and endometriosis as potential causes of infertility. She also strives to prevent unnecessary hysterectomies that could lead to a greater chance of developing fibromyalgia, as well as premature menopausal symptoms. She draws on her extensive herbal knowledge as well as acupuncture techniques to optimize chances of conception. She is currently working towards additional Board Certification with the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (ABORM).
